Skyrim is a Microsoft DirectX game, and OSX only will run OpenGL or Vulkan based games. Porting it to Mac/Linux would mean a rebuild of the entire game. So if I do this will Skyrim be Competable on mac Yes and no. And I've yet to see a SINGLE MAC that has halfway decent specs. Even the nicest macs would have been obsolete in 2010. Even the nicest macs would have been obsolete in 2010 I mean, I remember when Steam launched for Mac's, every blogger was crying that games weren't running well or even running at all.

Even calling Steam adware. So it's no surprise that these AAA titles aren't even being considered for release on Mac's If this isn't the most telling information out there about the 'quality' of mac hardware, the reluctance of developers to develop for it, or the difficulty of even getting games to run on mac, I don't know what is.

Less than like 10% of mac users actually have a desktop version of a dedicated graphics card, and the most powerful one I've seen is the GTX 970. Funnily enough, I've seen a few custom built Mac's out there, so I genuinely feel this is probably the case with some of those high powered dedicated gpu's. So really if OP is here, your hardware and OS restrictions make this incredibly hard to do. It's part of the reason Mac's as well as Laptops in general are considered vastly inferior for gaming. Windows laptop user here (specs on my profile). It is inferior to a nice custom built beast but sometimes you gotta work with what you got. Unless it's a mac. Dump that junk pronto XD.

Dump that junk pronto XD Even then, you have the option of using the new External GPU tech that's being put out through AMD so you can still play some nice games as long as your CPU is up to par. Which is something you cannot do with macs at all. Still, my 960M can do most every new game on medium or high if it's well optimized. Didn't know about those external GPU's though.
